FLL Explore is a Robotics program for 2nd-3rd graders. “In Explore, teams focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE Essential.”
Bloomfield Hills has multiple FLL Explore teams across the district and teams are formed based on which school a student attends and we try to keep friends together! Students at this level have the opportunity to attend the “Bloomfield Bash”, a non-competitive event where teams will present the best from their season to reviewers, participate in a team building activity, and see the next levels of robotics in action.

Registration
Team registration is limited and will end June 15. After June 15, students can be put on a waitlist which closes at the end of summer. FLL Explore season starts September 5 and typically ends in December. Teams will compete in at least one local event. During the 2024-2025 FIRST season, FIRST® DIVE℠ presented by Qualcomm, teams will use their STEM and collaboration skills to explore life beneath the surface of the ocean. Along the way, we’ll uncover the potential in each of us to strengthen our community and innovate for a better world with healthy oceans. Join us as we explore the future.. Students should be entering grades 2-3 in fall 2023. The cost for FLL Explore is $100.
Coaches
FLL Explore Coaches will be communicating with each other and Bloomfield Robotics administrators through the app/website BAND. Resources, ideas, and important notices will be shared there. Email us at info@bloomfieldrobotics.com if you are a coach or assistant coach and have not received an invite.
