As our district shifts from 3 middle schools to 2, we will be forming teams at both North Hills and South Hills Middle Schools. Our established highly rated teams will stay in place and students will have options to stay on their previous FTC team. While we will make all the efforts to ensure every interested student will be placed with their friends, we cannot guarantee this will happen in all circumstances. One thing we are sure of is that EVERY student interested in joining the robotics will have a spot on an FTC team.
As a parent, the most important fact you need to know is that even if you are new to the FIRST program or if you are an incoming FTC member, you will be asked to help your child’s team. From helping with building robots, strategy, program management, and programming, to providing snacks, making travel arrangements, organizing spirit wear, and much more, there is a place for everyone in the program! Volunteering in FIRST is one of the most meaningful ways of connecting with our children and their friends, and it can foster long-term friendships with other families.
